Belle is a Contemporary Abstract Painter, working in acrylics with pops of colour in oil pastels.

Having lived and worked in London for over twenty years Belle left the bustle of the TV world to return home to Shropshire.  Having now raised a family and left full time employment behind she has more time to spend on her love of painting.  Having been tempted by a succession of evening course at Central St Martins while working in TV production in Soho, she was keen to reignite her passion.

Belle's process involves building up and scraping back the layers to explore colour and texture.  The process finds and loses images,  shapes and colours as the layers are defined.

“I try to keep to a contemporary palette, but I am constantly drawn to the colours of nature either by the hills and landscapes of Shropshire or our beautiful British coastline.  I want you to try and draw you in to see another world where nobody views the same thing.  The problem is to know when to STOP”
